1. What the medium told me was sort of true

I was very curious. I wanted to know if life was going to get better for me. I was not in a good situation.

What the medium told me was true - I was on a merry-go-round and didn't know how to get off. But I realised later that only God could help with my situation. When I asked Jesus to come into my life I discovered the good news that he guides me and keeps me safe.

I also found out that God warns us against mediums and anything to do with the occult because these things open us up to all sorts of evil and can lead to depression, anger or even paranoia.

I discovered that mediums may speak some truths but not the truth - only Jesus does that.

2. I felt a spiritual presence that was way more terrifying than anything I had ever come across

I was into spiritualism and believed in Jesus. Then one day I went to a house meeting. They were reading these words from the bible:

Let no one be found among you who practises divination or tells fortunes...or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.

I felt a spiritual presence that was bigger, stronger and way more powerful and terrifying than anything I had ever come across. I just wanted to get away and couldn't believe that this was God - because God is a God of love not fear so I shouldn't be frightened of him. Then in one split second I was enlightened. I should be terrified because I was on the other side from God and under conviction. I accepted this and became a Christian putting aside all the tarot cards and paraphernalia I had assembled. I burnt them, got baptised and the fear went altogether, along with the drugs and alcohol. It changed my life giving me peace, security and a new start.

3. I found all I'd been searching for and more besides.

Destiny? Chance? Fate? Life? Death?

I looked in many places for answers to life's mysteries, to the unknown. I went to a medium who knew personal details about my life that she couldn't have naturally known. This drew me into seeking more at the spiritualist temple and using Ouija boards. It was very intriguing but it also made me scared. I wanted to find out more but it brought confusion.

And then in 1990 I met the 'unknown' face to face. God gave me a second chance and I took it. I asked Jesus Christ to be my saviour and, wow! - the light went on. Little by little the 'unknown' began to be revealed to me by God's truth in the words of the bible.

I met the 'Highest Power'

I met the 'Highest Power' when I met Jesus face to face. Everything I'd ever searched for I found in Jesus. The truth about life and death is in Jesus. The way to life beyond the grave is through Jesus. The life we seek is revealed in him.

Jesus says: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.(John 14:6) and Whoever comes to me I will never drive away.(John 6:37)

I found all I'd been searching for and more besides. Who do you believe; one way leads to death, the other to life. I don't know what tomorrow holds but I know who holds tomorrow.
